Beginning Computers - 6th Grade
Our incoming sixth graders are put on the electives "wheel", which currently includes computers and art. A good mix. This is to give them a taste of both subjects and allow them to make an appropriate choice in seventh grade. Students who chose music or who are put in support classes are not on the wheel.
More details are available on my syllabus, but the beginners generally become acquainted with good keyboarding skills, Internet safety, basic emailing, and the Microsoft Office programs.

Intermediate Computers - 7th and 8th Grades
Most of these students have had the initial introduction to computer keyboarding, safety, and Microsoft, but not all. This makes it challenging, yet not impossible. Keyboarding is done individually, on TypingWeb. One area that is new to pretty much all of the students is working in the cloud.
I moved nearly the entire course into Google's cloud a year ago, after I realized how important it had become to me. This is a really fun year that basically moves through documents, spreadsheets, presentations, maps, calendars, movies .... and more, as more is developed. Again, my syllabus is available for details.

Advanced Computers
By now, I have had most of the students for three years, and they are extremely familiar with the cloud, the applications, and are way beyond caring about keyboarding. They are ready to be far more self-motivated and creative. This class explores many web-based programs and uses student creativity. The evolving syllabus shows the details.
Advanced Computers - Television Journalism
TTV Studio
Tiger TV is a fun, fast-paced class that is limited to only the most responsible students. Each candidate is reviewed by past teachers and evaluated for computer knowledge. They, too, work within the cloud, where they collaborate in pre-show notes, email teachers for appointments, stay connected in the studio via Google Hangouts, etc. Jobs are rotated every week and creativity is highly encouraged. The only thing hindering the creative juices is the demanding schedule, since the show airs every Friday morning.
