Garrison Daily - Briefly
Actually, a good resemblance.
A grandmother of two and in the teaching world since 1990 (yes, a late start after years in real-estate oriented positions), I have found my raison d'être in education.
Motherhood
This is important to this pseudo-resume because I truly believe that the best teachers have parented.
My son, Brent, and I returned to the sunshine state when he was four. He eventually graduated from USD and got his MBA at Stanford. He is now founder of his own creation, ROUNDPEGG. He and his lovely wife have also created my magnificent grandchildren. I am so proud and happy for him.
Education
Teaching Career
My teaching positions have been in both elementary and middle schools within the San Bernardino City USD, but nearly always in sixth grade. Whether self-contained or strictly math, science, ancient history, or language arts, I considered myself an expert in the sixth grade species. However, I have been in the computer lab since 2009 with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels and I love it! Who knew?
I just love teaching (period). The best is to see kids get excited over something they didn't know about. If you can't have a good time, don't do it, I say.
I have a lot of personal opinions about education on my blog.
